The Camp Compass Scholarship Program is run by a diverse group of committed, experienced outdoorsmen from various professions including educators, doctors, business owners, and ordinary hard-working citizens. Founded in 1994, in Allentown, PA, by a teacher and avid hunter, John Annoni, it has grown to include deserving students from across the state of Pennsylvania and beyond.

As a federally registered non-profit organization, Camp Compass relies on the generosity of supporting members who donate resources such as outdoor gear, camping equipment, along with hunting clubs and ranches who make available their facilities at no cost to participating students.

What makes Camp Compass uniquely effective for turning around unmotivated kids is the longer time-frame for development. It's a FOUR-STAGE Program that will nurture an individual student for as long as 4 consecutive years. Students are chosen based upon social and academic criteria, parental involvement and consent, behavior modification needs and school attendance. Students must earn the right to retain his or her scholarship and they are monitored throughout each school year.
