PENNSYLVANIA TAXIDERMY ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS THE VISION

Once again we were the guests of The PENNSYLVANIA TAXIDERMY ASSOCIATION at the Eastern Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA. The show gave us an opportunity to introduce our students to the different aspects of the outdoors. The eight day show is the east coast's largest. After meeting with some of our supporters the results were in. WE HAD THE ONLY GROUP OF CHILDREN THEY SAW AT THE SHOW! That's great news for us, but sorry news for the industry that supposedly cares so much about kids. It is nice to see the PTA has the vision to help us with this part of our curriculum. We are leaders in the building of outdoor traditions. This show proved we are doing what others can not.

Bethany Sportsman Dinner

On February 20th and 21st we were the guest of Bethany Sportsmen at their sold out wild game dinner. We were graciously allowed to share Camp Compass information through the two days and saw more than 800 people. The guest speaker was World Champion Caller and hunter Dick Kirby from Quaker Boy Game Calls. The first night offered us a tremendous surprise. All the youth attending the event were entered into a raffle and Jarrett Noss from our organization won a Benelli 20ga Nova. The second night found two more of our students distributing information about our programs. At the end of the evening we had a chance to spend time looking at Mr. Kirby's handmade game calls and took some pictures with him.

DELTA WATERFOWL HONORS US!

Delta Waterfowl
has recognized the work of Camp Compass by awarding it with a PRESERVING THE LEGACY honor. Joel Brice a DW staff biologist wrote an article on the hard work of our volunteers and about our unique system. There was a feature article in the latest Delta Waterfowl magazine and we received calls from three different states following up the article with praise. We are grateful for the honor and we are looking forward to having Joel spend some time with our Travel Team next fall when we visit Sheldon Schlect in North Dakota.

Fort Washington Show Taken Over by Camp Compass

Its not every day that you see students in sharing time together outside of school. That's exactly what students from our Academy did on one cold Saturday at the Fort Washington Outdoor Show. One goal of our students was to meet with our supporters. We were able to spend time with Full Fan Lodge, Indian Valley Guide service and Victory Charters to name a few. It's quite an inspiring sight to see kids working and interacting with outdoor mentors.
